Fairbanks ultegra parcel shipping scale is rugged and reliable and can be used in a variety of non-washdown, general weighing applications up to 150 lbs. The Ultegra is made of a high-impact gray ABS composite material which makes it lightweight, yet extremely rugged. The composite material is reinforced with molded structural ribs that provide up to 300 percent overload protection. The Ultegra is designed to control deflection, which significantly increases accuracy.

Tough as nails scale, with one soft spot
The sheer heft of this scale let's you know it will weigh whatever you can roll onto it. The rollers roll very smoothly, and you can tell they are solid steel. We use this scale with a waist-height conveyor system. Shippers slide packages straight from the conveyor, right onto the scale...no lifting, which means avoiding injury. The scale weighs 100% accurately (be sure to calibrate it). The USB connectivity means it can communicate with any compatible shipping application, which allows you to avoid manual entry. Overall, I believe it's worth the price.<br /> <br /> I recently had to send my scale in for repair, because the USB port was damaged due to a wire snag. Although the scale still weighed properly, and displayed on the built-in LCD, it wouldn't transmit weights to our shipping application. The scale has wire management attachments on the bottom that would have prevented the damage, but it is mentioned nowhere in the documentation, and if you do not look beneath the scale, you would never know it was there. When I called to arrange the repair, the technician confirmed that the USB damage was a common repair, and suggested using the wire management next time.<br /> <br /> The repair was $155 plus shipping...almost 20% of the original cost! Once it came back from repair, it was good as new. I used the wire management immediately, to avoid another costly mistake.<br /> <br /> This scale has a lot of pluses: it's metal design and rollers helps it hold up well to large packages, and helps employees avoid injury. USB connectivity works with many apps, and helps avoid manual entry, which reduces errors.<br /> <br /> This scale has some negatives as well: it's USB port is easily damaged, the documentation has an important omission, and repair costs are expensive.

Heavy duty!
This scale is the real deal. It is heavy duty and very sturdy. Love the top rollers for rotating the boxes and pushing them down the line.<br />
